ITINERARY Leaving Dahab at 08.00 am. we drive for 1 hour to Nawamis. These circular inward-leaning buildings were constructed using sandstone slabs, each with a small opening facing west. It is thought that the Nawamis were probably ancient burial chambers. Archaeologists have unearthed shell bracelets, colored beads, flint tools, as well as bone and copper tools that were most likely funeral offerings, and many dates back to the Copper Stone Age, 4000-3150 BC. Then Wadi Mutamir and the Gebel Mahroum, the ‘Mountain with a Hole’, a popular bizarre sandstone formation belonging to the Gebel Barqa, with a hole cutting through it. In this area, you can also find numerous other rock formations as well as small caves and sand dunes. Stroll around a bit before you go sleeping to explore this great piece of nature. Return to Dahab at 04:00 pm.
